The Lumber Yard Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service and for performing the tasks involved in the overall operation of the lumber yard and associated equipment.
- Build loads for delivery.
- Load and unload lumber and building supplies.
- Operates forklifts and other vehicles.
- Keeps management apprised of any delays or discrepancies.
- Keeps lumber yard clean, well organized and safe.
- Other duties assigned as necessary.
- Customer Focus.
- Decision Making.
- Self starter.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work is primarily performed outside with exposure to all weather elements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation. The employee will be subject to pro longed standing, kneeling crawling climbing and carrying lumber and other materials. Must be able to climb ladders and to move and transfer materials around the lumber yard that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; read, talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work vary according to store needs. Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends.
No travel required.
Required Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years old in order to run equipment.
- High school diploma or GED diploma
- Lumber Yard Experience preferred but not required.
- Chauffeur License preferred but not required.
