Gillman Home Center named Entrepreneur of the Year!

Gillman Home Center was recently named Entrepreneur of the Year by the LBM Journal.

Each year, LBM Journal’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards recognize three
companies of different sizes who epitomize the entrepreneurial spirit. By our
definition, an entrepreneur isn’t necessarily a new business. Instead, it
describes a company that excels at identifying underserved—or emerging —
markets, satisfying customers, and constantly working to grow and improve
its business.
As in years past, this year’s winners—T.W. Perry, Gaithersburg, Md.,
Gillman Home Center, Batesville, Ind., and Home Lumber Co., Whitewater,
Wis.—represent vastly different operations. The common thread: a fierce
commitment to finding ever better ways to serve their customers and their
communities.
I’m proud to recognize these companies not only because they deserve to
have their stories told. But as three shining—and timely—reminders that it will
take much more than a global recession to hold this industry down.
